Women at the Forefront: Experiences from Kosovo, is project provisioned by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which resulted in the creation of a 40-minute documentary film “They made it happen” about successful women in Kosovo, their professional and personal struggle, and final victory and recognition in the society. The documentary film features interviews with empowered, professionally successful women of various vocations, and tells personal stories about the questions that concern us all. The project, developed and produced by Propulsion Fund, is a novel effort in Kosovo, aimed at empowering the entire society to fight discrimination against women and stimulating local women of varied backgrounds to follow the positive example set before them by those who have already succeeded as equal and empowered members of the society.
This film is of great importance as it is implemented with Fund’s deep understanding of the issue of human rights, especially of the gender discrimination in northern Kosovo, and in addition shows Fund’s advanced video production techniques. While exposing the issue of gender inequality from many different perspectives, Propulsion Fund added a human touch to the stories that easily connect to the audience and clearly communicate the message.
