The Pink House Residents
The result of our partnership with People in Need is a creative documentary “The Pink House Residents”. While usually on the margins of the society, the people with mental disabilities are the stars of the film, as it depicts their everyday lives and relations with each other – all within the house where they live on their own. This 40 minute documentary was directed in such a way that a viewer may immerse herself into a world which is, for most people in Serbia, far away from their everyday lives. Narration was provided by one of the participants in the movie, which allows for a stronger emotional bond with protagonists, all the while presenting the ideas, wishes, fears, and desires of these people.
By showing the world from their perspective, it allows the viewer to fully comprehend their status and position, with a heartwarming approach demonstrating the possibility of integration into the society.
